About the Art by Kurt Van Wagner

Digital photographer Kurt Van Wagner is a recent addition to the Las Cruces art scene moving here this last spring from his mid-coast California town of Solvang.
Kurt has emerged as an accomplished self taught digital artist. His artwork has gained international and local attention. During the past six years, over twenty of Kurt’s artworks has been featured in international magazines and book publications and have won numerous awards. He transforms his personal photographs into collectable works of art. Some of his works are digitally hand painted while others are made up as collages or scanned textures of rocks and leaves. The results are varied and striking, full of colors and textures that are dazzling bright while still emulating a serene palette. Currently his digital creations are displayed in corporate and professional offices, galleries and private collections throughout the United States and Europe.

Kurt’s art reflects his extensive world travel with his exotic and local landscapes. He transports the viewer to varied cultures, peoples, vast scenery and the heart. His recent works with the human figure are his interpretation of man’s purpose and meaningful existence in our world; the beauty that is in each and every one of us, starting with our physical presence to our souls. That if we pursue our dreams and the gifts God has greatly bestowed upon each and every one of us, we will know our purpose, find happiness and peace with our existence.

Kurt creates his art in a photo based digital medium that may be experienced by all to enjoy on the world wide web. For collectors of fine art, he creates high quality archival limited edition prints using Epson inks and paper.
